“I am happy to recommend Dr. Jackie Martin at Janesville Pediatric Dental Care! I am a mother of two children and the oldest was diagnosed with Asperger’s and Sensory Processing Disorder while in preschool. I knew that going to the dentist was going to be a difficult experience for him and wanted to be sure that I took him to a dentist who would be sensitive to him and the issues that could arise. When I met Dr. Jackie, I knew that she was the right dentist for our family! She was very calm and patient with my son and put him (and me!) at ease with her caring and confident personality. Multiple cavities, oral surgery, and a crown later…he may not love having dental work done…but he is always excited to go to Janesville Pediatric Dental Care and see Dr. Jackie and the very kind staff and play video games while waiting for his turn.”
“We always thought of flossing as a normal part of dental hygiene, what we didn’t realize is that sometimes issues found in our dental health can point to much larger, more serious issues. Before becoming patients at Janesville Pediatric Dental Care we flossed our children’s teeth three times a week or so. After becoming patients however we were strongly encouraged to increase to daily flossing. We had a watch put on a few teeth so we decided to put daily flossing to the test. After a year of those watches not changing into cavities we were convinced of daily flossing, however, we had no idea that this advice would actually save the life of our child. In 2012 while flossing our 5 year olds teeth we noticed her gums were bleeding. At first we believed we were just being too rough, but soon realized that wasn’t the case. After looking even closer we discovered she had 7-10 blood blisters on the roof and sides of her mouth, unable to see unless her head was tipped back and open wide – the normal flossing position. This led to the eventual diagnosis of idiopathic thrombocytopenia, a potentially dangerous condition where her body was attacking her blood platelets. Our daughter was in a critical point in this disease process which demanded immediate medical attention. Although her case was life threatening, the ONLY indication of her being “sick” was her bleeding gums, blood blisters on the roof and sides of her mouth and a bruise on her back which we were only alerted to because of the bleeding in her mouth. After proper medical attention our daughter has made a full recovery. It may sound silly to some, but in reality flossing saved our daughter’s life!”

School Visits and Office Tours
We would like to offer to your school a
"Show & Tell" presentation by our highly
trained imaginative staff. The staff will be
giving a presentation on dental health and
nutrition, utilizing visual aids like
puppets, models and a short video to make
the educational experience come alive. To
book a "Show and Tell" visit for your
school, please contact our coordinator.
The second educational opportunity is a
School Tour of our office. Preschool and
kindergarten children can have a fun,
enjoyable time exploring our facilities,
becoming familiar with the dental
environment, and learning interesting
nutritional and preventative information.
The tour usually begins with an introduction
to dental care by Dudley the Dinosaur. Then
comes a walk through the x-ray room, which
alleviates apprehension for their first
dental x-rays. Children enjoy our hands-on
approach to touring the dental office. This
will give them a chance to take a ride in
the chair and view how the equipment works.
To book an in-office school tour, please
